| Sarong Song | 3:33 |
| Inspired by the coment of my very good friend, Lane, in Feb. 1998 on the front porch of The Local Flavor at the White Bay Campground when Lane said of the girl described in the song, "Freddie, I've never seen a sarong look so right!" I looked at him and told him that I was gonna write the song and I did. Lane loved it. Recorded with the Tyler Group in Nashville in 2000, this is one of my favorites and appears on Modern Day Pirate. | |
| One Of Those Days | 3:08 |
| Written in 1996 when I came back from Jost in early Feburary, much too soon to get away from the tropics, I was having one of those days. First recorded in 1997 at Honey House Studios in Peagram Tennessee and appearing on Life on The Edge, this recording was done with Bobbie G. Rice in the Summer of 2001, after meeting Bobbie in the Islands. He heard my music and decided to produce and promote some songs. One of Those Days was released on a compliation by Bobbie and has had some radio play. It Also appears as this recording on Modern Day Pirate. | |
| Life On The Edge | 3:54 |
| This autobiographical tune is about liviing in the islands, diving with sharks, sinking boats, spearing fish and living life on the edge. If you're not Living life on the Edge, you're taking up too much room! First released as the title cut to Life on the Edge, this recording was done with the Tyler Group and is on Modern Day Pirate. | |
| Island Pirate | 3:56 |
| Also autobiographical, this one was one of my first songs to come from Jost Van Dyke. I have lived this life. This was the title cut of my first cd release and this recording was done with the Tyler Gorup and is on Modern Day Pirate. | |
| I'm From Tennesse | 5:03 |
| Cut with Bobbie G. Rice and on Modern Day Pirate, this song answers the question I get asked so many times, "why do you ever leave the islnads?" It was written at Center Hill Lake in Parrot Head Cove one early morning in July of 2000. It is all true and I really do love Tennessee, what more can I say? (After 911, I changed the last line to "I'm an American, ya'll. What more can I say?" ) | |
| Love Is The Answer | 4:21 |
| Written on September 15th, 2001, four days after the terrorist attack on our country. Like every other writer, I felt that I needed to say something about the event. I didn't want to do an angry song (even though I was angry) and I felt that somehow I needed to express the hope that I had and have for our country and the world. After talking with a friend who's son's roommate's fiance was on the plane that hit the Pentagon, I knew that I should write the story of those who were left behind to pick up the pieces of their lives after losing a loved one. With this in mind, I wrote this song. On the Saturday after that horrible day, I was a part of a very special event. to read the story of that incredible day, please click the link Thoughts on the Attack on my home page. I hope this helps explain where my mind was at that time in our history. |
